How Do Mosquitoes Bite?

Mosquitoes are carriers of various diseases like malaria, chikungunya, dengue, and Japanese encephalitis among others. Though mosquito bites may seem normal, but their consequences can lead to serious illness if ignored. They land on your skin, bite into it using their mouth, also known as proboscis, suck your blood out and leave behind their saliva inside your skin that contains protein. The protein left behind from the saliva evokes an immune response from the body that causes you to itch. Repeated itching on the affected area leads to inflammation and swelling. There are different kinds of diseases a mosquitoes’ bite can cause, the most common among them being Dengue, chikungunya and Malaria.
