    One of the most common diseases caused by mosquitoes is malaria. Itis caused by a one-celled parasite called Plasmodium. Female Anopheles mosquito picks up the parasite from infected people when they bite to acquire human blood needed to nurture their eggs. Malaria parasites multiply rapidly in the liver and then in red blood cells of the infected person.

    Symptoms:

    One to two weeks after a person is infected, the initial symptoms of malaria usually start to appear like fever, headache, chills, and vomiting.

  2. Dengue fever
